Two arrested in Kolkata for running illegal satta, cash and evidence recovered

On Monday evening at around 20:30 hrs, Kolkata Police arrested two individuals for running an illegal satta operation in Chak Garia, Kolkata. The suspects, identified as Soumen Halder (25) from Mukundpur and Samir Sikder (32) from Sukanta Park, were apprehended at 1652, Chak Garia, opposite Upahaar Complex, PS-PSR. The arrests were made based on credible information regarding the illegal gambling activities in the area.

During the operation, the police recovered several items from the suspects, including one calculator, two notebooks, a bunch of papers containing satta results, a set of satta pads, and a total of Rs. 11,670 in cash. These materials are believed to be connected to the ongoing illegal gambling racket the two individuals were allegedly running.

The arrested individuals are now facing charges under relevant sections, and the authorities are continuing their investigation. Further efforts are being made to trace any broader network involved in such illegal activities.
